When I moved into my house, the paint throughout was a drab creamy brown called “Smores” and although I like to eat Smores, it is a horrible colour on one’s walls.

Downstairs bathroom still painted in Smores. The flash in the camera makes it looks prettier then it actually is.
I went on a painting spree last winter, painting my main floor a butter yellow and the kitchen an inspirational deep blue. I left the bathrooms alone, because they were both in need of an overhaul. I had my upstairs bathroom ripped out in the spring which left patches of new drywall and left overs Smores. I lived like that all summer, but I could take it no longer when we came in from the cold this fall.

My camera doesn’t give my paint justice. The blue is much brighter than this.
I picked a blue called Spa Blue. It was in a mat finish on the swatch and it was very relaxing. The only thing was. it was going in my bathroom, so I needed a glossy finish, and WOW was it bright! I didn’t think I liked it at first, but when I went into the bathroom the next morning, sluggish and tired, I was rejuvenated…wide awake. The only problem we found was that it was hard to fall asleep at night, the solution, not turning the light on at night. Whose afraid of a little, or a lot, of colour?

Still very bright with a nightlight
Fabulous!
