Happy Year of the Teacup Pig! It’s the Year of the Earth Pig so a new creative illustration honours our oinky little friends and our love of tea.

Hello everybody and happy Year of the Pig! I know I’m a little behind on my wishes of good fortune and endless creativity but I’ve been a bit busy lately, and then my teacup pig needed a little more attention than I originally thought. But look how cute it is!!! Totally worth it.

My last month of the year of the sheep was a productive one indeed. I worked my butt off and was busy creating and teaching. A super jam-packed agenda where everything was scheduled in, down to the minutiae, even the washing of my hair! With my hubby away at the same time I had all the chores around the house on my own as well. I averaged 15000 steps a day and considered an afternoon off a mini weekend. By mid-February I finally slowed down. Now I just have to make sure I don’t put on the breaks and come screeching to a lackadaisical halt.

Meet my teacup pig below

A tiny piglet, a little bit of Matisse’s Green Stripe, a bunch of red pockets (aka, lai see 利是), gold and of course a little tea thrown in, topped off with a few lumps of sugar and voila! The sweetest teacup pig illustration you’ve ever seen!

It doesn’t look like my sign is supposed to have the greatest of luck this year even though I feel far overdue for some good fortune and awesome vibes. I guess I’ll just have to try my best and prove the gods wrong this time ’round. I will guard my teacup pig closely!

It sounds like the year of the Earth Pig will be a year to take a break from the frustrations from the last couple of tumultuous years. Rest and recuperate, steady as she goes. It’s a yin year, so it represents the feminine and has more of a flowing quality. The pig represents prosperity, fortunate & luck so 2019 is a good year to get your finances in order. It’s also a good year to cherish time with your family and friends. Aiming for balance in all things is the best way forward in 2019. Relax, take a vacation, take a new class, spend time with people you enjoy. The pig is the last in a cycle of 12 so it’s also a good year to end old projects. Out with the old in with the new! I guess it’s a good year to Marie Kondo your life and get ready for good things ahead.

All the best to you in the Year of the Pig! May you be surrounded by loving relationships & flowing abundance. Kung Hai Fat Choy!
